Abstract
Power quality monitoring pushes to study novel voltage and current transducers, capable to overcome the limits of the classic measurement transformers. In particular, wide bandwidth, high linearity, and proper galvanic insulation are requested. Recent researches in this topic are oriented following two different ways: by developing transducers based on innovative physical principles (electro-optical, magnetic field measurement, etc.) and by employing new technologies in classical measurement approach. Following this second way, in this paper, we propose a current-to-voltage transducer, which employs a Rogowski coil as a pickup device. The innovation is represented by electromotive force processing, that is completely performed in a digital way, by using a simple and inexpensive board. In this way, the well-known limits of the analog processing of the Rogowski coil signal are overcome; obtaining transducers that features overall performance well suitable for industrial applications.
