Abstract
A comparative study on the operational characteristics of a synchronous motor drive, fed by a voltage source inverter is presented. The inverter is pulsed using two well known methods (not PWM) and a new triggering logic introduced by the authors. This comparative study is based on computer simulation of the drive system using the PSPICE simulation package and is also verified by experimental results. The suggested triggering logic enhances the behavior of the system when compared to other known methods
