Abstract
This paper establishes a FDTD method combined with the network topology for calculating the EM coupling and transmission. The problem of EM coupling in a large scale space can be divided into simpler questions by cutting the whole problem space into independent sub-regions according to conducting boundaries. The scatter characteristic of every sub-region is calculated independently using the FDTD. A generalized matrix equation expressing the relations among wave vectors in every port is given. The structures of irises in waveguides are taken as numerical examples. This method is useful in analysing complex systems in EMC design and prediction
