Abstract
Speech recognition systems have found useful applications in the field of automation. The development and implementation of a practical speech recognition system has aroused many industrial interests. In this experiment, hardware and software have been designed and implemented for a real-time Cantonese word recognition module using a Texas Instruments digital signal processor (DSP). This paper describes the realisation of the acoustic front-end of this system
