            Abstract :
The goal of the present investigation was the study of the organization and dynamics of intracortical interactions in local neural networks (LNNs) of the guinea-pig visual cortex (VC). The spatial distribution of neuron interactions in the tangential plane of the guinea-pig VC is demonstrated, and a nearly complete disappearance of excitatory and inhibitory interactions between neurons separated by 250 microns is observed. It was found that a change in the LNN VC functioning led to a change in the intensity and temporal dynamics of the responses, as well as to a change in the synchronization of the neuron activity in local groups. Evidently this process caused the overswitching of the operating regime of the neuron group as a whole
