Abstract
We have observed pump-induced dynamical tunneling phenomenon in free-space resonant optical pumping of a deformed microcavity. We injected a focused-pump beam into the cavity by refraction and then made it coupled to a high-Q cavity mode via dynamical tunneling. By employing excitation spectroscopy, we measured a pump-coupling efficiency as high as 50% and obtained effective coupling constant responsible for the tunneling with a mode-mode coupling model.
