Abstract :
he potential of ground penetrating radar (GPR) for water table determination in a sandy soil was evaluated. It is shown from field experiments that the GPR measurements performed satisfactory. An artificial sandy soil embankment model with observation wells was used in field experiments. The GPR measurements were performed in transient survey modes with the antennas on the surface of the embankment model. Time gain approach and wavelet analysis were applied to analyze the GPR waveform data. A similar trend of water table behavior was measured by observation wells and GPR.
