Abstract

This paper reports in general on the introduction of digital picture technology in the traffic field and specifically on the intelligent integrated ITV systems (IIIS), one subsystem of UTMS21, which makes picture traffic information collected by cameras applicable for improving the conventional illegal parking prevention system. The IIIS uses inexpensive CCD cameras to help detect and eliminate illegal parking right near intersections and to provide automatic detection of traffic accidents near intersections by monitoring within the intersection
