Abstract :
In order to cut down the location time, we proposed a novel method for rough location of iris, which contains three steps. First, the iris image was binarilized by the maximum entropy technology; second, we made use of the image projection to locate the outer border of iris; last, we computed the inner border of iris based on the result of the second step. The results showed that the new method was availability, not only could it weaken the disturbance of original image, but also sufficiently took advantage of the two minimums of the projection. The experiments demonstrate that the novel rough location method can effectively overcome the time-consuming process.
