Abstract
The Digital Rights Management (DRM) is a collection of technologies which protect the copyright holder´s revenue by protecting their digital works, based on a secure architecture and respect of law, against any illegal use. We studied in this paper, different DRM architectures. It has been noted that they are restricted to audio and video contents and the corresponding licenses, which define their terms of use, are related to the player software and/or the equipment. We propose a DRM Adaptable Architecture DRMAA which widened the field of application of this technology to the other types of digital contents (XML, text and executable) and where the license could concerns the user, the player software or the equipment. In addition to be a consumer, this architecture allows the user to be a producer of digital content.
