Abstract :
The selection of an appropriate web service from the Internet is a great challenge for the web clients. It plays a vital role to choose the best, from different service providers offering the services with same functionalities. Mostly the web users may need certain service that needs to be combined with existing atomic services, termed as composite service. Many researchers have carried out their work on the optimal selection and composition of web services. One of the major issues is to find out the appropriate web service from service registries that satisfies the client´s need. The most promising and important advantage of web service technology is the possibility of linking and combining the existing services to construct a newly composed web service that satisfies the client´s requirements. QoS parameters like reliability, execution time, cost concludes a comprehensive selection of processes that are comparable to the needs of web clients. In this paper, a comparative study has been made on QoS-based web service selection and composition.
