Abstract :
In this paper, a loss-allocation method based on the improved topological generation and load distribution factor method is reported. New approach to the transmission losses considers the losses as additional loads at the beginning of the lines instead of introducing new load nodes in,the middle of the lines as proposed by TGDF method. This improvement enables matrix decoupling that manifests in identifying the power-flow paths and loss allocation without using the augmented matrices, thus less mathematical effort and calculation time are needed. The power-flow tracing methods can be efficiently used in transmission congestion management and transmission service pricing. Since the method concerns transmission losses, it is also appropriate for reactive power management.
