Abstract
The problem of voltage sags is common to industry. For sag analysis and mitigation, voltages and currents are usually expressed in RMS values. This method is inadequate since it obscures phase angle jumps and uses historical data for mitigation. This paper presents a new algorithm for real time voltage sag analysis and mitigation. It is compared to other methods of sag detection. The algorithm can extract and track a single sinusoidal signal out of a given multi-component input signal. It has the ability to track the amplitude, phase and frequency of an input signal in real-time.
