Abstract
Broadband planar antennas are useful for mobile communications. The UWB systems are worried about interference in the 5GHz band assigned for IEEE 802.11a. In this paper, a single feed planar UWB antenna with a rectangular loop parasitic element is proposed in order to make a stopband in the 5GHz band and is analyzed by using the FDTD method. The characteristics are shown in figures as parameters of position and size of a rectangular loop parasitic element. This result will apply to development of broadband planar antenna with stopband for mobile communications.
