Abstract
In this paper, a new method for division of traffic network for distributed simulation of road traffic is introduced. This method -- Mesoscopic-Simulation-Based Division (MeSBD) is focused on the uniform load of the particular simulation processes. The number of traffic lanes divided by the network division is also considered in order to minimize the inter-process communication in the resulting distributed road traffic simulation. In order to achieve a good network division, a fast mesoscopic simulation and a genetic algorithm are employed in the MeSBD method.
