Abstract :
A method for electronic reactive power and energy measurement based on frequency-controlled power-to-pulse-rate-conversion is analyzed. The proposed method allows measurements to be made with the same efficiency in single- and poly-phase, symmetrical and unsymmetrical, balanced and unbalanced networks without any systematic restriction. The way to retain the full benefit of high accuracy required by the power and energy standards is also presented
