Abstract :
This presentation explains importance of the role of reliability coordinator during system restoration in the light of NERC policies 5, 6 and 9, as revised in the aftermath of the blackout of August 14, 2003. The reliability coordinator´s role with respect to system restoration was defined and strengthened in many respects. In conclusion, this presentation describes the organizational issues related to planning emergency response and system restoration drills, and shows the ways in which the role of reliability coordinator is fulfilled in that operational context.
