Abstract
In today´s world the very strong photo-editing tools are available that are able to manipulate the images into a large extent that one would not have imagined in yesteryears. The use of this type of tools poses many questions on the authenticity of the images and there is need to determine whether the image is authentic or forged before making any decision. As image forgery has become one of the common malpractices, various forgery detection schemes have been proposed based on different set of parameters. This paper reviews some of the common techniques broadly classified based on: pixel, camera, format, geometric and physical properties and reviews the methods to expose these type of forgeries.
