Abstract :
The paper presents the results obtained by building a digital beta ID speed regulator into a four-quadrant DC motor drive with a separately excited machine, a two-quadrant thyristor power converter and the armature current reversing contactors. The armature current regulator and the command for the reversing contactors are realized using analog techniques. The speed regulator and the speed measurement are performed using a digital technique by means of a PC and an incremental rotary encoder. The analysis of the results obtained shows that such configuration of the drive has fully satisfactory static and dynamic characteristics. It has also been established, in practice, that the adjustment of parameters of the beta ID speed regulator is very simple.
