Abstract :
Generally, a synchronous motor requires position and speed sensors for control. The resolver, used as a position sensor together with a resolver-to-digital converter, increases the cost and size and minimizes the reliability of the drive. This paper presents a new position and speed sensorless control scheme of the motor based on stator current measurements: the ID-Model. Two approaches of the ID-Model´s controller are presented and compared with the performances obtained with a resolver
