  • Abstract
    Two new aspects of field oriented control, related to transients are described. One of them is the analysis of energy consumed during transients. An energy optimizing theory is developed, and its practical implementation is proposed. The other is the effect of the speed sampling lag time during transients, which can totally destroy indirect field orientation. An adaptive algorithm is developed to compensate its effect by estimating the real speed. The theory is confirmed by measurements. The implemented drive is fully digitalized, the algorithms are supported by the TMS32010 digital signal processor (DSP).
