Abstract :
In automotive applications, voltage source inverters generally feed the traction motor from a battery. By implementing a Z-Source inverter in drive systems, the DC-link voltage is adjustable. This paper discusses the benefits of an adjustable DC-link voltage as a degree of freedom for a loss minimized control of electric drives.
