Abstract :
The proper management of finished goods inventory levels in most companies is a critical business activity. However, often the inventory manager is greatly hampered by the lack of complete and timely information on the quantity and location of materials. This paper describes the “Inventory Visibility System” (IVS) which is a unique technical solution to this problem. The IVS system incorporates a large quantity of divergent inventory data stored in a database server and PC clients providing a clever method of accessing the data using `data views´ and `drill-downs´
