Abstract :
Flashover voltage test results of artificially polluted insulators with 0.2 mg/cm2, 0.3 mg/cm2 and 2 mg/cm2 kaolin on 110 kV and 220 kV porcelain insulators, room temperature vulcanizing silicon rubber coating (RTV coating) and silicon rubber sheds put to porcelain insulators are presented in this paper. Using RTV coating combined with silicon rubber sheds to insulators has an effective performance to avoid contamination flashover and wetted flashover for heavy polluted area
