Abstract :
At present, there are many methods for traffic signal control, but most of them are suitable to simple traffic conditions. This paper presents a new two-stage fuzzy control method that is suitable to complex urban traffic intersection control. Two-stage fuzzy logic controller is easy to acquire fuzzy rules and can greatly decrease the number of fuzzy rules. It is very suitable to complex urban traffic intersection control. By this method, the phase sequences and phase lengths of traffic signals and circle, changes along with traffic conditions. The simulation result of MATLAB is properly satisfactory.
