Abstract :
Planning new IT-systems for very large business applications (VLBA) requires informed decisions about possible architectures in early phases, which may have large-scale influences on further approaches, time and cost considerations during a development project. This article describes how an architectural decision has been prepared based on a function- point-analysis approach to rollout the SAP E-Recruiting platform and the content management system OpenCms at Bayer AG worldwide. Therefore the possible architectural variations will be introduced and discussed from the customer´s perspective at Bayer AG.
