Abstract :
A new method for the rotor time constant identification of indirect field oriented controlled induction motor drives is proposed. The rotor resistance is tuned only during acceleration and deceleration of the drive by a PI controller. The inputs of the controller are the torque reference and actual values. Digital simulation of the proposed system shows that this method ensures effective and relatively quick control of the rotor time constant
