Abstract :
This paper presents the authors´ perspective regarding the standardization of simulation models and, in particular, the modeling of excitation systems as proposed by the IEEE Std, 421.5. The authors are involved in simulation software development and the application of such software in power system studies and thus the approach of the paper is from this dual perspective.
