Abstract :
In this article local and remote magnetic immission characteristics of electrified 16.7 Hz railway systems are presented. Railway systems with different spatial arrangements of reduction conductors and the magnetic field caused by these systems are compared. Concerning typical maximum operating (traction) currents minimum distances between railway systems and environments dedicated as medical based on an overview of existing limits for a failure free operation of sensitive technical equipment such as electromedical devices are depicted. In case of exceeding the limits for medical equipment a description of additional mitigation measures for magnetic fields in hospitals in the vicinity of electrified railway systems are mentioned. Additionally with the help of measurements will be shown which problems can occur by incomplete mathematical models for the calculation of magnetic fields in the vicinity of railway systems.
