Abstract :
This paper presents a new control strategy for a permanent magnet synchronous motor drive that provides high-performance position control without position and speed sensors. The rotor position is estimated in the form of trigonometric functions by calculating the flux linkages which is obtained from the integrator using the estimation error compensator. Due to the compensator the estimated flux linkages nearly equal to the actual flux linkages, therefore, position and speed sensorless position control can be achieved well. The theoretical developments and simulation results show that the proposed control technique of permanent magnet synchronous motor gives a good performance for tracking applications
