Abstract :
Many excess sludge reduction technologies have already been researched. In this paper, we systematically estimate the following possible wastewater treatment technologies that may explain the reduction of excess sludge: completely mixed bioreactor, plug flow reactor and aerobic-settling-anaerobic (OSA) process. Results show that the mixed, plug-flow and OSA processes respectively produce excess sludge 8400, 6000, 880 mg per day, and the OSA process has excellent performance on reducing sludge production. When the average influent COD was 640 mg/L, the average effluent COD was 89 mg/L treated by OPA process. OSA process has good effect on excess sludge reduction for low concentration organic wastewater which has very important significance to the refinery wastewater treatment plant.
