Abstract :
A new approach of second-order sliding mode control (SOSMC) using backstepping design was proposed in order to solve the problem of "expansion of calculation" in backstepping design and improve the robustness of system. In this approach, the backstepping design was firstly adopted from step 1 to step n-1 in the design procedure; at the last step (step n) the SOSMC was introduced to the backstepping design to simplify the design of controller. Finally, this approach was applied to design the control system of aerodynamic missiles. The simulation results show that the proposed SOSMC using backstepping design approach has good tracking ability and strong robustness.
