Abstract :
In this paper we present the hardware design for a miniaturised spectrometer. The spectrometer is able to measure the absorbency in various wavelengths in the visible spectrum and it will be used (not only) in quantitative analyses of chemical solutions. The main features of the spectrometer are: the inclusion of a single chip 512 photodiodes array in order to achieve a miniature structure, portability, and the monitoring of measurements through an embedded display. The two latter features of the spectrometer as well as the electronic hardware design to achieve them are described
