Abstract :
SKVIN-1 bench for breakdown investigations of air gaps with voltage pulses of both positive and negative polarity, amplitude of 100-500 kV, rise time of 30-400 ns is presented. Diagnostic base of SKVIN-1 bench allows to measure voltage, current; record optical pattern in streak and frame registration regimes both on pre-ionization stage and main discharge in unified time scale. Possibilities are also extended by numerical simulation in two-dimensional geometry.
