Abstract
This paper aims to qualify the mechanical properties of the iris during its passive deformation under the condition of glaucoma. Experiments simulating the total pupillary block was performed on isolated rabbit irises to determine the passive mechanical behavior of the intact iris. The relationship between the area strain (delta) and the pressure of posterior chamber relative to the anterior chamber (P´) was obtained: p´=b0eb 1 delta
