Abstract :
Currently, total knee arthroplasty (TKA) is performed over 40000 for the year, in Japan. The number of cases has been increasing even now. In the TKA, it is one of the most important issues to alignment a balance of a force given by the soft-tissue surrounding the knee joint, because it effects a clinical outcome after surgery. However, the force is subjectively observed by surgeon due to no device to measure it during an operation. Then, this study aims to develop a device to measure the soft-tissue balance by using a force sensor.
