            Abstract :
Traditionally disparate approaches have been used for business process modeling and business process monitoring. The connections are often achieved through IT-level models e.g. state machine models. In this paper we provide a unified model - managed business artifacts - that captures the process modeling and monitoring concerns. We establish the connections through a business-level model. The concepts are illustrated through a simple example of the job application process.
