Abstract
Co-Mn/CeO2 mixed oxide catalysts have been prepared by immersion method and evaluated in the catalytic combustion of methyl acetate. CeO2 is prepared by co-precipitation method as supporter. Then Co-Mn/CeO2 mixed oxide is washcoated on ceramic honeycomb. The catalysts are characterized by X-ray diffraction (XRD), Temperature-programmed reduction with hydrogen (H2 -TPR) and BET surface area. According to the results of characterization, an appropriate amount of Co doped into MnOx is favorable for the formation of spinel type phases. The effects of the mole ratio Co to Mn and calcination temperature are investigated. When the mole ratio of Co to Mn is 1∶6 and calcination temperature is 500 °C, the catalyst exhibits the best catalytic activity.
