Abstract :
The paper proposes new dimensioning models for optical networks. Unlike the classic approach using the blocking probability as the main metric, the proposed models are designed to support specified business strategies. The case of monopoly is analyzed to obtain a profit-maximizing dimensioning and a comparison with the classic dimensioning is shown.
