Abstract :
The finger vein recognition is a rising way of biometric in recent years. The optical image quality of finger vein acquisition and the accuracy of vein pattern extraction are key issues. In this paper, a novel optical illuminating/detecting method was proposed for using in the near infrared finger vein image acquisition system, a finger vein pattern extraction method based on the maximum curvature mechanism was realized, the effectiveness of the whole system was experimentally verified. The preliminary tests demonstrate the FAR is 1.65%.
