Abstract
A description is presented of an implementation of a useful subset of the file transfer, access, and management (FTAM) protocol on Unix 4.2 BSD. The local implementation decisions necessary and certain ambiguities in the FTAM specifications are discussed. As well, some performance data of the prototype implementation are presented.<>
