Abstract :
One of the signi cant challenges that we face in a VoIP (Voice over Internet Protocol) telephone system is to provide a teleconference feature that can support large-scale teleconferences while minimizing the use of network bandwidth. This paper examines a new, bandwidth-efficient way of implementing a real-time VoIP teleconference system, and we quantify the improvements that we gained by enhancing our original concept. Our newly improved teleconference technique provides all of the features that previous teleconference systems provide, but our novel approach consumes substantially less data bandwidth than previous systems require. Our new system reduces the bandwidth consumption for a large-scale teleconference by nearly half.
