Abstract :
A hybrid modulation scheme for present amplitude modulation (AM) broadcasting system is proposed. Based on double sideband (DSB) modulation, another method, very minimum additive waveform keying (VMAK) is brought forward in the paper so as to more sufficiently utilize the bandwidth of each broadcasting channel. Digital multimedia data can be transferred while broadcasting analog audio signal. Computer simulation demonstrates that good bit error rate (BER) performance of both modulations can be obtained under some conditions.
