Abstract
Danish energy policy has developed over the last 35 years, and has continuously stressed energy efficiency as a central theme. A number of activities are used to promote energy efficiency, including taxes, building codes, Electricity Saving Thrust and utility DSM. The framework for utility DSM activities was updated in 2006 with higher targets and more flexibility. An evaluation of all Danish energy efficiency activities indicates that the DSM activities are efficient, but that the overall portfolio of energy efficiency activities is somewhat uncoordinated and can be improved upon.
