Abstract
In this paper, the authors developed an intuitive navigator system with 3D platform which is web-camera based tool for people to navigate the 3D contents of computer. As many head-controlled devices, users need not control computer by directly getting in touch with any equipment to avoid diseases from other users by using this navigator system. Although there are many navigators for people to control computer, the web-camera based navigator is a low-cost one and easy to install even for maintaining. This paper also investigates several relative researches about head control devices, face tracking and preliminary testing. This system is very adaptable to apply to short-distance navigators, like the electronic map navigator of the streets in a city or 3D objects with computer in a virtual museum. The authors also investigated the indicators of applying this system for helping further researchers to develop this kind of system. Finally, there many applications of this 3D navigator system are discussed in the paper.
