Abstract :
Coefficient quantization noise (CQN) in SVD block digital filters depends on the structure of their SISO filters. The problem of growing coefficient values in direct-form-derived block filters is analyzed. It is shown that normal form is free from this problem. Analysis of output CQN power shows different behavior from roundoff noise, in that it increases with block size. A new quantization method is suggested to reduce the output CQN. It is very effective for large block size
