  • Abstract
    Circuit simulation is an essential part of the circuit design process. Even though simulators are improved steadily, the simulation can fail, e.g. due to convergence problems. This paper presents an approach-called simulation assistance-to assist in dealing with simulation problems. A novel method to overcome simulation problems is described, which is based on waveform relaxation. It supports to locate problems and to approximate the unknown solution of circuit equations. A multilevel extension of this method improves the convergence
