Abstract :
This paper analyzes the input current waveform of a modified half bridge inverter as the electronic ballast for fluorescent lamps, in which a single stage inverter achieves sufficient reduction of harmonic distortion in the input current. The input current can be described as a simple formula using the simplified circuit model. The harmonic distortion can be decreased effectively by using duty ratio modulation of the switches
