Abstract :
This paper investigates the relationship of parallel model and series model for a permanent magnet synchronous motor including an iron loss. The expressions of flux linkage, terminal voltage, and electromagnetic torque are compared. It follows from the investigation that the flux linkage equations and voltage equations for parallel and series models are mathematically the same and the torque equations for two types of model are different. In addition, the essential properties of the models are exhibited with their advantages and disadvantages
