Abstract :
The purpose of this paper is to present a design-oriented analysis of a novel high efficient DC-DC power converter with low output voltage, which was proposed by authors previously and is composed of boost and half-bridge circuits. Based on the analysis, they clarify the circuit design procedure of the power converter. Especially, they show the optimized driving method of synchronous rectifier FETs. As a result, they realize a superior DC-DC converter as an on-board power supply with a very compact size of 70.75 mm in length, 50.5 mm in width and 8.5 mm in height, and very high efficiency of 91.8% at 48V DC input and 2V/20A DC output
